Direct Injection Turbo
The S-CROSS is powered by a 1.4-litre BOOSTERJET direct-injection turbo engine that packs serious torque. The intercooled turbocharger forces pressurised air into the cylinders, maximising torque at low rpm. The direct injection system optimises amount, timing and pressure of fuel for enhanced performance and efficiency. Thanks to the electric intake variable valve timing (VVT), cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) and high compression ratio, S-CROSS achieves excellent fuel efficiency of 5.9L/100km¶ (2WD models) and 6.2L/100km^ (ALLGRIP models).
ALLGRIP SELECT
In S-CROSS, you’re the master of your destination. ALLGRIP and ALLGRIP Prestige models have four different selectable 4WD driving modes to suit the conditions and know you’re in control.
Auto
Saves fuel in normal driving conditions, only switching to 4WD when wheel slippage is detected.
Sport
Increases cornering performance by allocating more torque to the rear wheels. Also optimises accelerator-torque characteristics to increase engine response.
Snow
For excellent stability and enhanced traction on snow, unpaved or other slippery surfaces.
Lock
Delivers maximum torque to the rear wheels to get you out of sticky situations such as deep snow, mud or sand.
